Oh, how glad I was to read and be reminded about the life Mormon had. I have read his writings many times, but never thought about it that way. The Book of Mormon is the best read, it tells us about the past, present, and ponder, pray, and study can tell us the future. I am so thankful I am a member of Jesus Christ Church, and know He is in charge. No president, Vice President, or cabinet can take away our free agency. GOD gave that to us as a Gift. Even as his SON was a gift to the world.

This is excellent and thought provoking. It reminds me of a 1939 C.S. Lewis quote from his “Learning in War-Time" address to his students at Oxford who were tempted to quit their studies during the war. He said:
"The war creates no absolutely new situation: it simply aggravates the permanent human situation so that we can no longer ignore it. Human life has always been lived on the edge of a precipice. Human culture has always had to exist under the shadow of something infinitely more important than itself. If men had postponed the search for knowledge and beauty until they were secure, the search would never have begun. We are mistaken when we compare war with 'normal life.' Life has never been normal. Even those periods which we think most tranquil, like the nineteenth century, turn out, on closer inspection, to be full of cries, alarms, difficulties, emergencies."
