I feel like I’ve been both Saul and David at times. It can be hard to not feel like you’re lacking when you see others flourishing, but I love what you said, is our version teaching us more about God? That’s what it’s supposed to!
I also have felt awkward as a David. People telling me how smart and knowledgeable my kids are and I can tell their praises are tinged with feelings of sadness. I try my best to reassure them they’re doing great. Then I remember I should do that with myself when I’m Saul.
