A man named Bezaleel had been given great gifts from God.

Moses described Bezaleel by saying:

“And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass.” (Exodus 35:31-32)

Those sound like pretty cool gifts, right?!

Bezaleel was talented and had probably worked hard to hone in on his crafts over the years.

But the Lord had something extraordinary in mind.

Bezaleel’s specific talents and abilities were needed to help build and beautify the tabernacle.

And Bezaleel willingly used his gifts, all given from God in the first place, to serve the Lord in building His holy house.

What are some of the talents and gifts you’ve been given from God?

What are skills you’ve worked hard to develop?

How have you been able to use those abilities to help give back and show thanks to the Lord?

Happy Studying!

“Do you think introverts can still be good members of the church?”⁣

My friend and I were having a discussion years ago about sharing the gospel, visiting teaching, and feeling uplifted, all by being social. ⁣

And her very introverted husband interrupted us and asked this question. ⁣

It kind of stopped me in my tracks, because I had just been talking about how connecting and talking with people was how I felt the love of God working in my life. ⁣

I don’t think I had a great answer for him then, but I have never forgotten his question. ⁣

Jesus taught:

“Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (3 Nephi 12:16)

And since I’m pretty extroverted, it’s not natural for me to understand others’ desires to NOT be social and interact with people. ⁣

But I feel that as I’ve matured and grown, I’ve learned that absolutely 100% without a doubt that introverted people can still let their lights shine and be perfect examples of gospel living. ⁣

Why?⁣

Because we ALL have the light of Christ within us. ⁣

Sharing our “light” doesn’t mean getting up on stage and belting out a solo.

It doesn’t mean carrying out lengthy conversations with everyone in the ward.

It doesn’t mean putting your testimony on social media every single day. ⁣

It CAN mean those things, but it certainly doesn’t have to. ⁣

Letting our light shine means letting the Light of Christ naturally shine through as we develop our strengths that we have been given. ⁣

And if that means that you think your “shining” looks different, smaller, or less interesting than the ways that other people “shine”, it truly doesn’t matter. ⁣

If we are doing good works and leaning into our unique strengths, Christ can help us become more than we are now. ⁣

He can amplify our light and stretch us to become even brighter. ⁣

So what is YOUR unique way that you can shine? It will probably look different than mine, or your spouse’s, or your friend’s –

But comparison is the thief of joy. ⁣

So turn your attention to the Savior – how can you let your personal God-given light shine in the best way that only you can?

Happy Studying!

Do you know who your ward family history consultants are?

A few years ago, EVERYONE knew who our family history consultants were.

They were amazing.

They came in and taught Sunday School lessons, hosted youth activities, made goals, and did home visits.

I did family history work, and took my own names to the temple.

It was awesome.

Our consultants especially impressed me because that calling is a pretty vague one. Not every ward even has them, and I don’t think I could have told you who held that calling previously. Not that that’s a bad thing.

But I was just so impressed by how they chose to magnify a calling that could be perceived by others as small, insignificant, or unnecessary.

They made it large by using their unique talents and strengths.

What callings do you have right now?

Sure, what calling do you have at church.

But also, what other callings do you have?

A mom, a teacher, a parent, a ministering sister, an actual sister, an honorary grandma, a leader, a spouse, a child, an organizer…

I was shocked (okay but kinda really) when I took my first baby girl home from the hospital that there was no handbook on how to be a mom.

I get to just… figure it out.

But I feel this motivation to not just “figure out” how to be a mom, but to instead MAGNIFY that calling.

How to think for myself and create the best “mom” that I can with my personal talents and strengths.

I think about my Savior.

I don’t think there was an exact blueprint that His life here on earth had to follow.

Instead… He just went about doing good in quiet but powerful ways.

He created how He would fill the calling of the Savior by using His kind and eternal talents and strengths.

Creation isn’t just for artists, writers, and musicians.

We all get to create.

We get to create exactly how we are going to fill the roles that we have. The callings we’ve been given. The assignments we receive.

We get to magnify what we’ve been given to create even more.

Happy Studying!
